RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLING FOR COUPLES AND INDIVIDUALS
Even with the people we love most, sometimes we struggle to connect.
As a couple: perhaps we’re stuck in a cycle of arguments which never really get resolved, perhaps we’re straining to balance differing ideas about how we live our lives together, perhaps we’re navigating difficult life changes and circumstances, doubting our feelings and feeling increasingly disconnected from our partner. Sometimes we experience a major rupture in our relationship and feel uncertain whether or not we’ll be able to repair it. And sometimes we just feel we’ve grown and changed over time and wonder if our relationship has run its course, and yet don’t want to give up too easily.
Individually: perhaps we find ourselves repeating the same problematic patterns in a series of relationships, sometimes we’re in a committed relationship but inwardly feeling confused about what it is we need from our partner and sometimes we’re on our own and feeling overwhelmed by recent or past relationship experiences to the point where we feel we’ve lost our way.
As a highly experienced specialist Relationship Counsellor, I offer you the opportunity to come and explore your difficulties in a confidential and non judgemental space. There are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ agendas. I will meet you where you are and we will think together about the changes you wish to see. My aim is to help you increase your understanding, accept yourself with compassion and to help you feel more empowered in working through your challenges.
In Couple Counselling we can explore what’s possible in balancing both people’s feelings, needs, values and expectations to reduce conflict and improve honest and flowing communication. We can also work on reconnecting, rebuilding intimacy, nurturing closeness in your relationship or managing life-stage transitions, as required.
In individual work (whether you’re single or attached) I can help you process current difficulties or dilemmas and/or explore more broadly to help build your confidence in your own ability to communicate your needs and to make healthy relationship choices.
